I am an Australian-trained General Practitioner with a special interest in mental health, men's health, addiction medicine, neurodiversity and youth health.
My approach combines evidence-based medicine with focused psychological strategies (FPS), lifestyle medicine and, where appropriate, plant-based therapies.
Before studying medicine, I completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience at Monash University and an Honours degree in Neuroscience at the Australian National University. I later worked in science communication, including delivering educational programs to remote Aboriginal communities, before working in a residential drug and alcohol detoxification service.
These experiences deepened my understanding of how trauma, culture, relationships and life experiences shape health and wellbeing.
I completed my medical degree at Deakin University and have since worked across general practice, rural emergency medicine, mental health and addiction medicine. I went on to complete a second Fellowship of Advanced Rural General Practice specialising in Emergency Medicine whilst living on Magnetic Island.
Outside of medicine, I live on the Mornington Peninsula with my two children and our therapy dog, Alfie, who often joins me in the consulting room. I enjoy gym, yoga, chess, reading, writing and exploring the ideas of psychology and philosophy.
